It was a blessing in disguise when I was transferred from Special Unit in Electrical Engineering Branch to the Information Technology Unit back in 1999. Back then, IT was a new era and most people agreed that IT is difficult and not a popular job.
Nevertheless, myself and a senior friend, Mahizan decided to take the challenge. Beside our routine job in the department, we slowly try our luck in contracting IT job. We managed to implement 2 jobs, 1) cabling & networking for Board of engineers office in Kelana Jaya and 2) Cant remember... :p
There was a project on networking and we both were lucky to be offered for a conference in Hong Kong based on the projects scope. We decided to bring our family along.... Fatehah was 3 yo and Jannah was only 2 months old. Since Jannah is still a baby, I had to leave her with my parents and Fatehah was the lucky one :D
We spent 5D4N in Hong Kong. Back then in 1999, we only managed to rent a very small room in the hotel and the room was too small that we have to perform our prayer on the bed... pheww.. Halal food was hard to find... but our mee maggi save us most of the time :)
The best part is, we felt that 4D3N was too short and we have not explored HK fully. Hence, we decided to extend our stay for 1 more day where we successfully grab to conquer the famous Victoria Peak :)
